Service Manager

Position Overview:
Reporting to the President, the Service Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the service department. The Service Manager ensures that all marine service and repair tasks are performed efficiently, timely, and to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The Service Manager will lead a team of skilled technicians, coordinate with other departments, and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers
- Effectively manages service department to ensure team objectives and financial goals are achieved
- Displays extensive working knowledge of industry standards and practices, including product details and company services offered
- Offers exemplary customer service, including maintaining customer relationships and ensuring repeat customers by upselling appropriate products and services and taking care of any customer concerns or complaints quickly and professionally
- Assists with or performs administrative tasks as required
- Develops working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, and ensures service department adheres to all regulations
- Coordinates with centralized service desk/CS team for daily activities and works together with CS team to improve overall team performance and customer satisfaction
- Administers and consistently participates in talent acquisition for their team, as well as improve training programs from apprentices to master technicians
- Monitors service issues and client complaints to define patterns and work to lessen those recurring issues
- Regularly audits work being done and customer service being provided to ensure all standards are met and that repair work is carried out effectively, correctly, and thoroughly
- Assist with the sales process by providing support to the CS Team during order entry and acting as a liaison between technicians and customers.

Position Requirements:
- Previous Service Experience a plus
- A & B Level Marine Technician experience
- 2+ years’ experience with marine engines
- Comprehensive Industry Knowledge a plus
- Strong Customer-Facing Skills
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication, Self-Motivated
- Competent and confident with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to Troubleshoot, Creative Problem-Solving ability
- ABYC Master Technician certification preferred
- Degree in Business or Administration preferred

- This position is characterized by typically physically light, administrative work, but does require occasional heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force repetitively to lift, carry, push, pull and reposition objects.
- Ability to traverse about a variety of environments and obstacles throughout the marina, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to remain stationary at a keyboard for extended periods of time and continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.

Marine Fiberglass Craftsman
Annapolis
Position Overview:
The Marine Fiberglass Craftsman is responsible for executing a wide range of fiberglass fabrication and repair tasks, from minor cosmetic fixes to significant structural projects. This role involves identifying the root causes of failures and determining the appropriate repair methods to successfully complete work orders. Key responsibilities include developing material lists for project completion, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and completing service reports and forms accurately and promptly. The Marine Fiberglass Craftsman communicates directly with clients to clarify requirements and review critical details as needed. The role requires travel to marinas and private slips within a 30-minute service range. Additionally, the craftsman contributes to business growth and improvement initiatives

Marine Maintenance Specialist
Marine Detailer, Bottom Painter, Shrink wrap

- Position Overview:
The Marine Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to yacht detailing, bottom preparation, antifouling paint application, and shrink wrap installation and removal. Key duties include washing, compounding, waxing, metal polishing, interior detailing, bilge and engine detailing, sanding, stripping, blister repair, primer and antifouling paint application, as well as shrink wrap installation for standard wraps, full tent enclosures, and deck access enclosures.
- Responsible for all aspects of yacht detailing, bottom preparation & antifouling paint application, shrink wrap installation & removal
- Detailing: Washing, Compounding, Waxing, Metal Polishing, Interior, Bilge and Engine detailing
- Bottom Paint: Sanding, Stripping, Blister repair, Primer and Antifouling paint application

- Service on all makes/aspects of marine electrical and electronic systems (GPS, radar, MFD’s, A/V, motors, pumps, lights)
- Service on all makes/aspects of marine plumbing and general systems (Raw/Fresh/Grey/Black Water Systems, Sinks, Showers, Heads, Propane/CNG, Ovens, Stoves, Fuel Tanks, Steering, Trim, Bilge pumps)

- Design, installation and repair on all makes/aspects of marine electrical and electronic systems
- Perform testing and sea trials as required
- Research information required to successfully complete work orders
- Develop material lists for project completion
- Work is completed under minimal supervision of a team leader or manager
- Communicate directly with clients to clarify requirements and review critical details as needed
- Travel to marinas and private slips within service range (approx 30 minutes)
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Complete service reports accurately and submit them in a timely manner

- Service, repairs and replacements on all marine engine makes/types and mechanical systems (gas, diesel, inboard, I/O, outboard)
- Routine and interval maintenance
- Troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair
- Perform testing and sea trials as required
- Research information required to successfully complete work orders
- Develop material lists for project completion
- Winterizations and Commissioning’s
- Work is completed under minimal supervision of a team leader or manager
- Communicate directly with clients to clarify requirements and review critical details as needed
- Travel to marinas and private slips within service range (approx 30 minutes)
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Complete service reports accurately and submit them in a timely manner
